Celebrating their 50-year anniversary this year, it seems fitting that Winnebago Industries Inc., the most recognized name in the RV industry, would do something spectacular to launch their second 50 years—and that is exactly what they did. Their newest model, the 2009 ERA (photographed above), is a premium Class B motor home that may be perfect for first timers or for those who want the enjoyment of RVing but no longer need a big rig. It offers a fully-functional, spacious interior with a fully-equipped galley and bathroom area. Built on the popular 8,550-lb. GVWR Dodge® Sprinter chassis with a 3L 6-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, today’s cost conscious consumers will appreciate the estimated 16-20 miles per gallon (MPG)* rating expected of this RV.

Below are a few Class C models also built on the Sprinter chassis and offering comparable MPG ratings.

2008 Navion iQ
Offering 12-15 miles per gallon, the new Itasca Navion iQ is available with two exciting new floor plans this year. The 24DL features a rear slideout that extends the queen bed and increases the livability of the bedroom. This model also features innovative bench seats and table behind the front cab that combine for a unique cross-coach sleeping area for the kids or guests. The 24CL features a rear dinette with a picturesque panoramic window that offers outstanding views. All Itasca Navion models are now available with full-body paint to enhance the exterior graphics of these motor homes.

2008 Fleetwood Pulse
The Pulse is a Class C motor home that offers two spacious floor plans including a large single 11–foot slideout with a choice of a full-width rear bathroom in the 24A model, or a rear bedroom configuration featuring a double bed in the 24D model. Details such as European-style cabinetry, Corian countertops, contemporary interior design options and pass-through storage are the hallmark of this RV. With a Mercedes-Benz® 6-cylinder 3.0L turbo-diesel engine you can achieve 14-18 MPG*. The Pulse is also easy on the eyes with a highly-styled front cap and standard Dupont® full-body paint.

2008 Four Winds Siesta
The all-new Four Winds Siesta Class C motor home is  powered by a 3.0L turbo diesel V-6 engine and offers a 170” wheelbase. A single street-side slideout houses the U-shaped dinette and provides ample room opposite the galley. European-styled cabinetry can be ordered in cinnamon maple or honey birdseye maple and is complemented with a stainless steel double-door refrigerator. At the rear of the coach is a curbside bedroom with a full bath tucked into the other corner. Additional sleeping is available with a cab-over bunk. Entertainment is available with the standard 19” LCD television over the door, or you can opt for the front entertainment center with a 26” LCD TV and home theater sound system with DVD player.
